Creative Space free story time and drop-in arts & craft workshops for Cruinniú na nÓg 2025
For this year’s Cruinniú na nÓg, we are turning the Chapel into a sensory-friendly Outer Space-themed venue!
We are dedicated to creating a quiet and sensory-friendly space, away from the hustle and bustle of the busy town, that’s suitable for children of all ages and needs, to come in and enjoy arts and crafts. It will be decorated by our two amazing art teachers and workshop facilitators, to create a variety of sensory-friendly areas, including areas with blankets, bean bags, tents and a variety of star-emulating lights and projections.
The day will start with an hour of Storytime with Mary Hickey, a retired educator and storyteller, who we have worked fondly with in the past. Mary will be taking the quiet morning slot, to read a variety of outer space-themed stories, which may be more suited for the ‘little ones’.
We will then have drop-in arts and crafts activities that children of any age can participate in, such as making their own rockets, using recycled material, collaging their own alien, and designing planets to be part of our solar system wall.
Activities timetable:
11am-12pm : Story-time with Mary Hickey – Perfect for the ‘little ones.’
12pm-4pm: Arts and Craft activities with our tutors – Open ‘Drop-in’ Style.
Drop-in event, no booking required.
Please note: Photography and videography may be taken at the event, consent will be requested.
