Every October, artists all over the world take on the Inktober drawing challenge and do one ink drawing a day for the entire month. The final weekend in September, illustrators Shona Shirley Macdonald and Alan Corbett facilitated illustration workshops with children 9-12 years old, and with adults. The groups were encouraged to participate in Inktober at their own pace and post their sketches online on a dedicated Facebook page (Inktober Tipperary) The final weekend of Inktober (October Bank Holiday weekend), there was an exhibition of work by 18 participants, both adults and children, including the workshop facilitators, LIT students and tutors, fashion designer Grainne Wilson, as well as Inktober participants. This was accompanied by a workshop on illustration and animation by illustrator Alice Coleman, book readings of illustrated books for children, and projections of animated short films by students of the Digital Animation course at LIT Clonmel campus.
